"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path" Psalm 119:105 (NASB)
Offering help through difficult times in a confidential virtual environment
Are you struggling with issues related to trauma, grief, anxiety, or major life changes? Do you feel alone, isolated or weary from the daily grind and you don't know how to cope? Sometimes we need someone to come alongside and light the way, to give hope and encouragement with practical guidance on how to live our faith.
Matthew 11:28 (NASB)"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
Pastoral Counseling as Soul Care
"Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers". III John 1:2 (NASB)
While the term "Christian Counseling" may include Pastoral Counseling, Pastoral Counseling is a unique form of counseling for which practitioners are uniquely equipped to facilitate the healing of the whole person- mind, spirit and body- through the integration of spirituality and psychotherapy. This type of counseling is provided by counselors who are not only mental health professionals but also persons who have in-depth religious and theological training. Pastoral Counselors combine theology and psychology to help individuals cope with mental health problems, and spiritual, emotional and behavioral issues.
What distinguishes Christian Pastoral Counseling from other forms of counseling and psychotherapy is the role and accountability of the counselor. The Christian Pastoral Counselor uses the truth of Scripture, explaining and applying them to the individual's life through exhortation, admonition, rebuke, correction and training.

About Me
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners." Isaiah 61:1-1 (NASB)
"A bruised reed He will not break and a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish". Isaiah 42:3 (NASB)
Our world can be a painful, confusing place, and one can suffer from unresolved pain, prolonged grief, or depression. Many times a person simply needs soul care to work through or process events that are overwhelming. Jesus is the best and most wonderful Counselor, but how do we apply our faith to these situations? How do we bring the power of God to work toward healing and forgiveness?
My name is Lisa Moore and it's my fervent belief that through a combination of Solution-Focused short term Biblically based counseling, prayer and obedience these questions can be answered. I practice a unique blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Pastoral Counseling to achieve healing and balance in mind, body and spirit. This unique approach to healing is called Soul Care. While psychology looks at the way a person responds to the world and theology looks at the relationship of a person to God, Soul Care looks at the entire person - our experiences and the paradigms that control how we respond to trauma, pain and stress. A solution-focused approach allows one to focus on moving forward and equips the person with the resources and skills to navigate through life.
I have a calling and passion for helping people who suffer to do more than merely survive. When we are ready to confront the negative and detrimental mind sets, when we are ready for change, there is not only hope, there is freedom and joy.
My Experience:-Master of Arts, Pastoral Counseling - Crisis Response and Trauma (MAPC)-Mentor, Impact Women's Ministry-Former Counselor, Denton Bible Church Lay Counseling Center-Former Counselor, Steve Barnes and Associates-Former Ordained Chaplain-Graduate, Bible Training Center for Leaders (BTCL)-Bible Study Leader-Author, The King's Court Newsletter
